Lata Mangeshkar, who was known as the ‘Nightingale of India’, died at 8:12 am at Breach Candy Hospital Mumbai. She had tested positive for Covid-19 on January 8 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. The Bharat Ratna honored singer was showing improvement until last week but her health deteriorated and could not survive.

Lata Mangeshkar was also the recipient of several awards including Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dada Saheb Phalke Award, and multiple National Film Awards.
